is advisable for anyone coming to Costa Rica to rent a car. Nearly all
the roads are asphalted but for some destinations you will have to face
dirt roads; therefore a 4X4 is the most suitable.

To
reach Mystica by car, the shortest road is the Pan-American that from
San Jose comes close to San Ramon, goes through Esparza, comes close to
Punarenas and in the direction of Liberia goes into the town of Canas
and up the hills to reach Tilaran.
Once
you arrive at Tilaran carry on in the direction of the lake and after 13
km. you will find the road signs for Mystica. |
Public Bus:
Mystica is 3˝ hour bus ride from San Jose. The bus departs daily at:
7.30a.m.; 9.30 a.m. (not on Sunday); 12.45 p.m.; 15.45 p.m.; 18.30 p.m. |
